The printing industry has more people coming and going than an airport. This week, Print 21 takes a look at the flurry of changes that has occurred as Ross Gilberthorpe re-enters the game while Peter Carrigan bats on.
Ross powers up with MAN Ferrostaal
Long-time print marketing guru, Ross Gilberthorpe joins MAN Ferrostaal as marketing manager.
Managing director, Markus Haefeli welcomed him to the Melbourne team:“Ross will be joining the team on a contract basis in the capacity of Marketing Manager. Ross will be working on developing a new and exciting strategic and tactical marketing plan for MFA as well as driving the upcoming PacPrint exhibition in 2009,” he said.
“Ross comes to us with many years of experience in printing and graphic arts sales and marketing, most recently as the marketing and channel manager for Kodak Graphic Communications Group ANZ.” Of his new appointment Gilberthorpe was most joyous. "I'm looking forward to working with MAN Ferrostaal in what will be an excting year with PacPrint," he said.
Peter Carrigan is still at the crease
In another chapter of his long innings in the graphic arts, well-known supply side mover, Peter Carrigan, is moving on from Fujifilm.
The high-profile industry identity resigned from the film supplier last week but is firmly rejecting any suggestion that he is retiring from the industry. He is taking a break over the Christmas but is adamant he will be back looking for another role in the New Year. “I’m still a councillor of Printing Industries and while I may not go back to working five days a week, there is plenty I can do for the industry.”
Fujifilm is currently searching for a replacement for the pivotal role of general manager graphic arts.
