Seven of GASAA’s members from NSW are geared up to complete the organisation’s Truly Green environment management course next year.
The six-month course has been designed to assist businesses in setting up an environmental management system in compliance with ISO 14001 international standards.Devised by Paul Kohn, member of the ISO 14001 Standards Committee, the Truly Green course will continue to roll out across Australia on 20 February, Sydney; 11 February, Brisbane and 18 February in Melbourne. According to Garry Knespal, executive officer of GASAA, Paul’s approach to teaching offers businesses the chance to collaborate and work together.“Paul Kohn has done a great job in reviewing the potential risks of the specific sites, providing a unique profile for participants to monitor and improve,” he said.“At the same time he has helped members prepare in a group setting with the core documentation required to gain ISO certification.”Previous attendees, Luke and Michelle Everingham of Shepson Printing enjoyed the interaction with others. “It’s good to have feedback from other companies during the course,” they said. “General discussions are very helpful when sharing ideas and methods.”
