Print finisher buys buckle-folder to tackle increased workload

Point Control Print Finishing has installed a MBO T800.1/444 buckle-folding machine and A66-2ME mobile stream delivery to boost its efficiency.

The investment was for an undisclosed sum and was in response to an increased workload at the Accrington, Lancashire-based company.

Managing director of the eight-staffed business Richard Berwick said: "With the new T800 we have the increased production speed that we require due to the ease of setting up, plus even greater accuracy and better overall quality."

The company, which was established in 1996, specialises in PUR and perfect binding.

Print runs can be anything from one copy to around 30,000 copies, although the company said it can handle larger jobs if produced in a staggered operation.

Berwick said: "We like to handle smaller, quicker turnaround job because we find they are slightly more profitable than tackling large production runs, and this is where the new MBO is already proving its worth."
