Canon is looking to capitalise on the demand for black-and-white capacity in the production printing arena after making a trio of mono additions to its imagePress printer range.
The imagePress 1135, 1125 and 1110 can print at speeds up to 8,100, 7,500 and 6,600iph an hour respectively.
The manufacturer is pushing the mono machines towards clients in the commercial and print-for-pay markets as well as Corporate Reprographics Departments (CRD).
Canon is anticipating the new imagePress machines will address a demand for mono with the manufacturer's research highlighting that around a third of production print is black-and-white only. In addition, 42% of this is carried out digitally.
Each of the new imagePress machines can print at resolutions of 1,200dpi and on uncoated substrates in grammages ranging from 52gsm to 300gsm. Maximum stock weight on coated stocks is 240gsm.
In addition to the latest press launches, Canon has also released its Helix Production Workflow system.
The software, developed by NT-Ware, is available standalone or as a package with a new imagePress. It is designed to help integrate print ordering and production while adding web-to-print functionality.
Trevor Dodsworth, head of professional print marketing at Canon UK, said: "The Canon imagePress1110, imagePress 1125 and imagePress 1135 offer a scalable family of printers that meets the needs of CRDs, print-for-pay businesses and commercial printers arena.
"When linked to Helix Production Workflow, they offer our customers highly efficient and cost effective integrated solutions."
