Concept Packaging reveals high-end box

The box is assembled without glue
Concept Packaging, the Bradford-based packaging design development firm, is targeting the high-end goods markets with a two-part board box, which is supplied flat.
The box, which comprises a cartonboard outer and a solid board inner, is assembled without glue, creating a strong box that can have curves and slopes.
Managing director Chris Hallam told Packaging News the box could be easily processed on existing conversion lines, and because it was transported flat had "environmental and cost advantages".
"Because we are printing directly onto board and not using glue, we can create more unusual shapes and the box looks a more finished article," he said.
He added it was also possible to cover the boxes with material at a lower price than in China. "With our system, the fabric or cloth is applied flat and the absence of glue means all the tensions are equal."
There has already been interest in the box for cosmetics and confectionary products, at it could potentially be used for other products such as whisky bottles, Hallam said.
Concept Packaging products, such as rigid tubes, are produced under licence in China, Latin America, and the US as well as the UK.
